Embedding Google Maps Made Easy

With the new function in google maps for creating code for embedding google maps, integrating maps in blogs and websites is now very simple! The best bit is the maps remain clickable and 'zoomable' and can click on "Link to this page" in the top right hand corner to get access to the code! Unfortunately doesn't seem to be working with wordpress yet - but working a treat with blogger!

I can't seem to get this to embed in wordpress at the moment - but for those of you using blogger as you can this free tool gives a slick and professional result making use of your flickr images.

VOKI - Geography Vodcast

Get a Voki now!

Currently, as with a number of other widgets, I can't manage to get Voki to embed in wordpress, however it seems to quite happily embed in blogger. Here is an example of a Geographical use of a voki based on the post on igeog . Here it has been used to create a brief vodcast as an introduction to coasts for GCSE. As a free tool it has great potential for developing online resources and also getting students involved in creating their own. It would be good to get people's comments on this and suggestions for examples of how this could be made use of in the geography classroom - see the detailed posting on igeog for more details.
